Rg350DX any good? - need oppinions

I've been looking long and hard into buying one of these i just have no way of testing one. *I love the look and it seems the price is right. *If anyone has any experience with *these let me know. *If the pickups are bad or it just doesn't stay in tune or anything else I should be aware of. *And of course good experiences are always a highlight.
Thanks

* Joel

Rg350DX any good?

imo.. *your money would be better off spent on a used 500 series (550, 520, 560, 570). *You can get one in great shape for roughly the same price and your ax will be 10x the player. * The stock pickups suck in all non-prestige ibanez's. *Expect to shell out $100 for some DiMarzios or Duncans of your liking.

If you have to have a double locking tremolo and it has a Lo TRS on it which I'm guessing it does then I suggest you find an RG with an Edge Double locking tremolo. New or used. Tons of RG's out there so shop around. My honest opinion the Lo TRS and the Lo TRS II aren't any good. I owned a JS100 before so I'm talking from experience ) good luck!

A used RG 500 series would dedfinitely be the way to go here. The Edge Trem system is the absolute business. If you buy a lower priced RG new, only to sell it on a year later, you will lose out on the depreciation. A 500 will not only feel and sound much better than a 350, it will also hold its value when you come to upgrade (something you would be wanting to do a lot quicker if you did go for the cheaper option).

Aim high! (Check out the Toshiro's thread re. the blue sparkle RG.) *

Matt.

I have owned a RG 450 DX and the guitar has a Lo TRS II. All i can say is that the tremolo stay in tune if you don't use the bar too much (read never push or pull a little !!!!). The p/us aren't that good too compared to the old 500 series.

Buy a used RG 5XX.

Definately, if you're going Ibanez with a floyd, don't settle for any less than an Edge or Lo Pro Edge tremolo bridge. They are the best i've ever played without the shadow of a doubt.

What is the new guitar you're looking at?

Great choice! 3120 has great pickups.
As for price... Now keep in mind I honestly don't *know* but I would estimate around ... $1300 Canadian.

I'm not completely sure though. I'm from Canada too but the highest quality RG i've seen in Canada was a brand new RG 7 string for about $1200.

You may be able to pick one up for a little less than $1300 seeng you find a good deal. Ask around and let us know.

Only one problem, there seems to be no Ibanez dealer in the lower mainland, and that's my only position at this time seeing as how i have no real means of transport. *If anyone does know of somewhere and is willing to help me out then i thank you and will praise your name eternally.

Canada eh? Tell me about it. My dad drove me 8 hours there and 9 hours back, to and from Connecticut to save me the shipping and customs taxes to get my 7VWH.

Check the FS section, Kirk has a 3120 and a RG 550 for sale for pretty good prices right now.

I don't know why I'm selling Kirk's guitars for him, but what the hell

No, the pick-ups are not low-end. *RG-550s usually come with (crap) Ibanez stock pick-ups. *Kirk's 550 has EVOs installed (the same pickup that comes in the 7vwh jem). *The 3120 has a PAF Pro and Tone Zone I believe.. but it's not my guitar so ask Kirk!
