RG560 - I played one and it's nothing to scoff at!

I recently played a used RG560 in a guitar store. Edge trem, HSS pup settings. From rear to front, V2, A2, A1.

I've heard some not so nice comments on ths guitar and I don't quite understand it. It was some of the nicest trem action I've ever experienced.

Your opinion?

I love rg560's I *think they are great and have had a few I think the single in the neck sounds great ( better then a humbucker in the neck) much cleaner sounding *they have good trems *and are well made

Good to hear someone agrees. I've heard people say some not so nice things about this guitar. It totally rocked.

I have one, and I personally love it. I've played a Jem before (an FP), and I must admit it felt nicer, but the RG is still an excellent guitar. They can be had for very little $$ used, much cheaper than most Jems.

Yeah! I saw a used RG560 in a guitar store for $400 Canadian! (I'm from Toronto)

I played it and it played very nice. I prefer front single coils for leads.

This particular 560 had some body chips, scratches and obvious wear but it still played great.
Good to hear this feedback.

I just picked up a used Japanese RG560 for free and I love it. Needs alot of work but it will be worth the trouble. Going to put some Seymour Duncans in it I think or Dimarzio! Anyway really cool purple/blue finish! I don't see how anyone could say it's no good

I'm surprised anyone who's into the "superstrat" style of guitar has anything bad to say about an RG560. Personally, I've never had a problem with Wizard necks, some folks in extreme climates do though. That's the only real complaint I could foresee with this guitar in it's price range.

Thin necks don't do it for me at all really. Just too wimpy. Tone suffers and of course they could warp easier.

A used RG 5XX is the best deal out there. $400 Can is what, about $275 US? Sounds good to me, as long as the frets and neck are decent shape.
But now you're saying you don't like thin necks? Maybe this isn't the guitar for you then.

I agree that it is a good deal but i'm afraid those necks are far too thin for me. A great player and trem guitar. Something i'll highly recommend to a friend of mine that wants a guitar of this type.
