Samick "SKULLS & SNAKES George Lynch" guitar

I just saw a Samick "SKULLS & SNAKES George Lynch" graphic guitar at a local guitar shop. Never heard or try any Samick guitar before. Can anyone here give the low down of Samick guitars in general in terms of playability and quality, please. I might just get the guitar for me cause the graphic is awesome.

Samick bought Valley Arts quite some years ago. Blues Saraceno had his signature built by Samick. Haven't tried a Samick in ages though.

thought the snakes and skulls was a ESP thing?

Samick years ago Samick now

Valley Arts were nice and wasnt Blues Saraceno's Plaid guitar Yamaha? Then he did all those weird popsicle finishes with Samick?

That was what I thought too. Snakes are Skulls are supposed to be an ESP thing. I did ask for technical assistant and enquired from her whether Samick is affilaited with ESP. She said NO. But the funny thing that caught my attention was that the guitar was made in Korea. So was LTD. So I was wondering then whether that same guitar is also made with the LTD version of Snakes And Skulls in the very same factory in Korea.

Correct me if I am wrong,I ever once read somewhere in this forum, somebody said that some Ibanez guitar parts are made by another company ,Cort. That was why the serial number in some Ibanez guitar starts with the letter "C". This I am not sure. Correct me if I am wrong!

It was my impression that if you've played an bottom-end import guitar, chances are, you've already played a Samick, as they make guitars for lots of people. Or so I've been told.

There's info on the net about this guitar pal just do a search on "skulls & snakes
George Lynch" and viola. but answer your question somewhat I will tell you that
Samick claims that they came up with the design before George came out
with his debut Lynch Mob album and consequently the logo that the band and
guitar would bear afterwards, supposedly George saw the Samick model and
liked the idea and took it to ESP for them to buils him a guitar like that
now the major difference between the two is that the samick model has 3
pick ups whereas the ESP model just has 2, another difference is 24 shark fin
inlays neck on the Samick vs a 22 custom inlay on the ESP and the biggest difference between the 2 which you probably noticed since you saw it in person is that the Samick model has the Skulls & snakes graphic actually
carved into the body and that definitely adds more to that guitar and in comparison the ESP version only has the graphic airbrushed on the budy.
Playingwise I've never played the Samick version it looks like a good axe and
I've heard good things about it, but like everything else you gotta try it yourself. I saw one on the bay 6 mos ago and it went for like $600 so that
should give you an idea as to what to offer for it, I know for sure that even new is nowhere near as expensive as the ESP custom shop version, hope this helps.

Re: Samick "SKULLS & SNAKES George Lynch" guitar

Hi Guys,
I have owned and played my Samick (Skulls, Snakes & Swords) guitar for nearly 22 years as I belive it was made in 1985. (Traced via the serial number) It is the rarest most valuble guitar I have ever owned. The overall sound is very metal but the craftmanship is outstanding. The artwork is hand carved and the neck is one peice, and still straight. (Neck through body construction) The EMG pick ups are powerful and bright with a crunchie tonal quality. I am very pleased with the whole instrument and would never part with it now I know it precedes the ESP version. The gold hardware is showing signs of age now but the Maxima gold (009-042) strings I use accent the look. The electronics are still in good condition, having recently been serviced and the coil tap still works. (Mine is a seperate switch above the tone pot) The black backside paint has suffered over the years from excessive use of large belt buckles and sweaty hands but the frets are still as new with no discernable wear evident yet. I have nothing but praise for Samick as guitar builders (High dollar piano makers originally) Their workmanship is superb.
