Schecter vs Ibanez

Hey!

Quick question... how would a Schecter C-1 Blackjack FR (with passive Seymour Duncans) stack up against a prestige Ibanez like say... the RG2570 Z ?

The RG is fully equipped with the Edge Zero bridge, Zero Point System and DiMarzio / Ibz pickups and the wizard neck.. however the Schecter is a neck through mahogany body with real Seymour Duncans and a Floyd Rose that I dunno how trusting it is... also the neck is thicker...

Which would be more appropriate for metal / shred / but also versatility for other genres ?

I assume the Ibanez is the genuinely good guitar in your description ?
Hey noob alert here, the Ibanez GRX40 is the only instrument I've owned so far

Re: Schecter vs Ibanez

I'd go with the ibanez every time, you pays your money and you get a really good quality instrument in return!
The rg 2570 is a huge step up from the grx, its also far better than a schecter blackjack. I'm not saying that a blackjack is a bad guitar, its just that its pretending to be an ibanez sz. Ultimatley the choice is yours, i'd know what my choice would be though.

Re: Schecter vs Ibanez

Schecters are nice guitars, but you can't compare a C-1 Blackjack FR Schecter against an Prestige Ibanez like the RG2570 Z.

You can compare the C-1 Blackjack FR against for example a Ibanez RGT6EXFX (they are priced about the same) and in that case I'll go with the Schecter every time.

But against any prestige, I'll pick the prestige.

BTW I own a schecter c-1 hellraiser and a ibanez RGA121 prestige, so I can give an informed opinion.

Not sure what Schecters you've played but I've found just the opposite on the ones I've played.

They are different guitars plain and simple. Quality is like comparing Korean Ibanez to Japan Ibanez, so just on the sum of the parts, style of build and the level of craftmanship you really can't compare.

The Schecter BJ FR is a set neck, mahaognay neck, mahogany body w/ OFR. The RG2570 is a bolt on maple neck to a basswood body with most likely and EP bridge which just makes them a different animal from each other.

I own quite a few Ibanez RG style axes and I'd still like to grab a new FR Black Jack Schecter, they feel nice (if you like a gloss neck), play nice and sound THICK (real SD pups, can't go wrong there) and I like the classy look and even the cheesy black jack inlays.

Just my 2cents.
