You can also mate RG550 neck with RG 520/620 body.
Sourcing 2 decent RG5/6 guitar on ebay will set you back around $300 each and then you can ebay the 550 with a
rosewood neck
for $300.
That way you'll end up with a great gutar for $300 in 2-3 weeks.

I put a vote in for that too. Its the best way to be honest, plus it will be miles cheaper too. Then you can throw in some DiMarzios or something, and be happy!

Or just get a standard 550 with
maple neck
and buy a new 2 humbucker scratchplate - saves messing about flogging off the remains of the other guitar.

Re: Searching for Guitarw/24fret Maple fingerboard?
Hey vejiita -
I wanted exactly the same requirements for my guitar and i did what Algiman mentioned. I bought a used rg550 ($200) and bought a new pickguard (HH) from EKG for something like $40.
So for <300 i have a nice rg550 which i love....

Re: Searching for Guitarw/24fret Maple fingerboard?
LGM? Is that an old banner?
Point being, I've got one 570, I'm looking to have 2, and I'd like to have
maple fingerboards
. I'm watching for a 550 to part out, but I'm not winning.
I should add that I may be looking for help changing out these things. I know I could do it myself, but my mechanical skill and patience are s**t.
Thanks,
Jerry

Ibanez RG2450. It's a 5 piece neck though. But it's basswood, with
maple fretboard
. Has 3 pickups though. You can see them on the Ibanez Japan site.
