So I'm walking in...
So I was walking around my school's library today, and I notice a big Strat-style guitar sitting in one the display case windows. Apparently the theme of the month for the library is a look at Memphis' musical past with the blues, etc. After looking at the guitar though, it didn't turn out to be a Squire or some cheap knock-off as I had originally expected. It was, in fact, a Japanese Strat.
However, what perplexes me is that it had some sort of odd looking
locking tremolo
on it, as well as a string "clamping" type device near the string tree, I guess to serve the purpose of a locking nut.
It has three single coils. an off, vintage white type color (like the Yngwie Strat), and a
maple fretboard
(22 frets).
Does anyone have any clue as to what model this could possibly be?
It think it looks like this, but with the off white finish:

Any chance for a bigger picture?

Kahler trem
but it's hard to see

That looks like a Kahler, all right. Looks to big in the pic to be a System 1.

Here's a better pic of something similar:
I think that resembles it pretty well.

Re: So I'm walking in...
Well, THAT one is the System 1. Didn't look quite like it in the other pic of the other guitar. You sure that's the same trem type? If it IS, then it Is a System 1, which could be found, stock, on some of the Japanese Squier Strats. Wish it was mine. I owned a Fender with a System 1, and it stayed in tune, nicely for me, and got great warbles, to boot.

Re: So I'm walking in...
I installed new pickups in one of those a few months ago. I think it's called a
Strat Plus
or something, and was released in about 1983 or thereabouts... whichever year it was that the only strats were made in Japan during the change of ownership. The bridge is Fender-branded and is a sort of Floyd-Kahler hybrid design.

Cool guitar, will have to look out for one.
Anyone know what the neck is like on em?
Would be a cool alternative to my HM.
