So who here is into Les Pauls?

Personally, my favorite guitars in the world besides the JS. But Ive also noticed that many Ibanezers HATE Gibson...so just wondering.

I've got no hate for LP's. I'm saving up to get an Epiphone LP at the moment. True, it's not a Gibson but I'm not in a thousand pound guitar position at the moment and I'm heavily into Doug Aldrich so an Epi will have to do.

Not a fan either. Had a studio first and hardly ever played it and ended up selling it. Then a custom came my way in a trade for a Jackson Soloist and as much as I wanted to like it, it was never the guitar for me.

I prefer my sg standard over a les paul. Its brighter sounding and cuts better. And looks cooler.

Me, I love them.

Here's mine, when I broke a string. I thought it looked artistic.

Re: So who here is into Les Pauls?

I'm a bit weird when it comes to LP's. Some are really nice looking, but the playability (especially at the top of the neck) I find completely off-putting. I think it's a guitar that I would like to own if I had a ton of others, but if I could only own a Les Paul and nothing else I wouldn't be happy. The weight is also something that would get on my nerves after a while. One of the reasons I sold my RG3120 was the weight. Coming from using lighter guitars such as the RG550 and RG750 to an RG3120 was not easy. I never used it in live situation, and I am glad I didn't because it would have made my shoulder ache for a week. I used a Les Paul in some rehearsals a while back and tried to do a solo but I had to switch back to the RG because the LP just couldn't get the job done.

So, heavy and limiting, but occasionally quite pretty... it's just not for me.
