Steinberger Spirits - Quality Guitars?
i was looking through the mucisyo site, as i am interested in getting a bass. *i was going to get a dean or warwick, but love the look of Steinbergers. *i cant afford a real one, but am quite impressed by the spirit range, they even have EMGs i think, and they are so cheap.
does anyone know if they are any good, i would love a steinberger, i even saw a guitar, bass doubleneck, how cool would that be, doing a

I suspect the EMGs are "selects" - crappy passive pups for cheap guitars.
These are NOT your father's Steinberger. *Nowhere near it - more like the old Hohner copies. *Personally, I'd look at them as second guitars or travel guitars. *Not made to be a person's main axe. *But then, people HAVE chosen cruddy axes as main players before, so what do I know?

There's loads of stuff about Mr Roman on the forum, do a search and read up all about him. Or visit Harmony Central Forum for the Leprechaun caricatures
Read, but imho don't buy.

The proof's easy to see out there on **** - any post buyout Steinberger goes for pennies, where the pre buyouts still shift for decent money. The world of corporate acquisitions shafts the consumer once more! Yay!
I looked into it during my Garsed & Helmerich phase but decided that, Steinberger or not, I was never going to develop enough fingers to sound like them.

Guys, you might want to check out some of these models (which are available in Japan - dunno about US, though):

Their prices seem very reasonable. Trouble is, the shop doesn't ship outside of Japan. I might ask Ishibashi if they stock Spirits. I believe they do.
