String guage on short scale (i.e., Les Paul) vs. long scale

I'm interested in hearing from those of you who have/play 25.5 scale (RG, S, strat) guitars AND 24.75 scale (LP). Do you use a different guage (heavier) on a 24.57 scale guitar to compensate for the looser feel?

i have both and i use the same gauge on both (10's) because i think 10's sound better. I dont really think you sould compensate "feel" too much for tone, so the hevier gauge dosen't really bother me on the larger scale lengths. Having said that when i do play on friends' guitars equiped with 9's my fingers seem to fly legato style all over the place, but i wouldn't take my 10's off just to make it easier

I used to use 10 on my ESP Jake E Lee (24.75") and 9-46 on my Tele (25.5) just to keep the plain strings from going weak on me.

Sold the Jake, Now I use 9's on my trem guitars (2 RG750's, Charvel 750XL, Jackson Performer) and 10's on my Tele.

I have an old ElDegas LP Copy that I am restoring (24.75) I may use 11's on it and set it up for drop D tuning... Dunno yet.
