Suhr Pro Series
http://suhrguitars.com/guitarsProSeries.aspx
This is so cool. It's a more affordable line of Suhrs. ($2200 MSRP, $1600ish street price.) The nice thing is that the quality, materials, and pickups are just the same as the custom Suhrs. Plek,
Buzz Feiten
, everything. They're keeping the cost down by only allowing you to pick the color but it's the same guitar you'd get if you ordered a custom with the same specs.
According to a post on the forums, they might be doing a transparent finish
swamp ash
model and a two humbucker 24 fret model later this year. Awesome.
I'm going to wait to see what the 24 fret model looks like and I'm definitely getting one of these. Wee!

Re: Suhr Pro Series
I know they're great, but it looks sooo plain. It's a Strat with a
bridge humbucker
. And a Schecter headstock...

Re: Suhr Pro Series
Considering relatively "plain"
Fender strats
can retail for a similar price, and assuming that here you get a significantly better build quality and materials, that's not that bad of a price.

Re: Suhr Pro Series
Suhr guitars
are considerably higher quality than almost everything available. They may look like Fenders, but there's no mistaking a Fender and a Suhr.

Re: Suhr Pro Series
I appreciate that Suhr guitars are exceptionally well-built, but I think they could look a little more interesting. Why bother making it look like a Strat? That's not at all creative and there are better looking guitars out there that sell for much less money.

They can't make the Pro Series too beautiful otherwise people wouldn't buy the
Custom guitars
.
There may be better looking guitars than the Pro Series, but not many will play as well
If you want a good looking guitar go for a Suhr Custom - like mine

I know what you're saying Mark, but rather than Suhr producing what is basically a copy, how about some original design?
I can't afford a custom!

Copies are normally inferior to the original. That can't be said about the Suhr it will p!ss on a Fender.
Even though it looks a bit like a strat, the body is based on Suhr's Standard shape not their Classic which is more strat shaped.
We need a new website

Re: Suhr Pro Series
Suhr's pickups are better than most of whats available out there as well...
That being said I have an Ocean Turquoise Suhr Pro on order...
