Telecaster Copies?

Does Dean still make the Naskvegas or Peavey the Reactor? Any company make good tele copies besides G&L?

Schecter used to do a great one back in the day, though I don't know if they still do. Charvel does the San Dimas in both strat & tele...

Re: Telecaster Copies?

The best tele copy IMO is the Bill Nash relic series. They are all aged remarkably accuratly and the actually play and sound like old fenders. I love them. I have a nash strat and it might be the best strat I have (the eric johnson is pretty rad to so its hard to call). A lot of people are turned off by them becuase they look "old" but if you really know anything about guitars you know that is a great thing. I dare anybody to find me a jazz box that sounds better than my 49 year old Gibson Es350.

Buy a nash tele. Dont be stupid.

Check out Ron Kirn, Rick Kelly, Chihoe Hahn, or Bill Crook. They all make Tele copy guitars.

Yeah, Bill Crook makes some lovely stuff. I've drooled over a paisley tele made by him for years now. They're not cheap but they're worth every penny by all accounts. If you're looking for something cheaper you could try something by Agile/Douglas at Rondo, or as said above the Schecter PT range as well.

LOL - No.

I like guitars to look shiny and new but PLAY old. Anyone who really really knows anything about guitars knows that is a great thing

Re: Telecaster Copies?

And to answer the OP, i think that Fender's own Highway 1 series are pretty good value guitars, but if you want a high end Tele copy, look at Crook, Suhr and Anderson. (although the latter seems to have fallen from grace recently and Suhr are the new Darlings of Fender copies)
