That Cheapo guitar you loved

What was that cheap guitar that you bought thinking of her like the back-up of the back-up of the back-up of your main guitar, and suddenly you couldnīt put her down and felt in love?
In my case most of them were finally sold and i regret for that.
Especially my ibanez ghostirder 320, a very bizarre thing.
What were your guitars guys?

My 1993 MIM Floyd Rose Strat that I bought off of ****. I got so used to playing it I wouldn't touch any other guitar. too bad I might have to let it go soon cos I have more guitars than I can handle (though still a lot less than some folks here have).

DeArmond M70. I sold it to pay for my PRS, but i miss her bad. The pup's were single coils being passed of as humbuckers, and she didn't like to stay in tune, but i miss her bad..

I used to have a H-S-S strat knockoff with a cheap Kahler Floyd copy that felt GREAT (the pups didn't sound very good, though). It was made by Gorilla! Complete with gorilla face decal on the headstock!

J. B. Player. It was a Jackson soloist knock off. Kahler style trem. EMG select pickups. It was actually a great playing guitar. My parents bought it for me as an x-mas gift from Sears. I think one of my buddies was using it and then left town with it.

Man there is a shop that specializes in used gear around were I am from. They have all sorts of 80s rock/metal guitars. They had Shane, Jackson, Ibanez, Aria, Kramer, Lotus, you name it. Some of those cheapo guitars played and sounded bad ass. Although most of them were hideous! Have any of you seen the lotus machine gun guitar?

My first electric was a Kramer xj-6 which had horrible action and worse pickups but I slapped a Kahler Floyd from the carvin catalog on it and went to town. That was a cool little guitar. I too loved that trem. I didn't route under the trem so you could really only do divebombs.

I have a 1988 "Vantage" (strat-like) with 2 single coils for neck and mid and 1 humb for bridge; but only the bridge one works. I bought it used from a guy who used to hit cymbals with the headstock while playing... Originaly, it was pink but the guy painted it black ; and that is why you can see pink paint chips on the other side of the headstock! So I decided to scrape it all off. Now the whole thing is on bare wood with a nice satin varnish. I changed the crappy emg humb and singles with nice dimarzios and oh-my-god this old used-to-be-****ty-guitar looks and sounds mean. Glad I did all this, it made me save bodaciously.

A buddy of mine used to have Silvertone accoustic (Sears & Roebucks) that was a decoration in the corner of his room 'till I came along, tuned it to an open G tuning and pulled out my slide. What a cool vintage blues slide sound!!! We have since parted company so I don't get to play with it anymore but I kinda miss it.

Mine is a Samick TV Twenty, the Blues Saraceno signature model. Picked it up for 150 USD new from a store that was closing down. Blew me away and still does! I think Rick Beatty has one too and knows exactly what I'm talking about. I actually had two and sold one to a friend, who is also flabbergasted.

Second would be the graphite Steinberger I bought "cuz it was there" and promptly bought every one I could find, since they don't make them anymore. And now I have about 15 original graphite Steinbergers!

My first guitar, which was a red Peavey Predator. It was a strat copy with a maple fret board. It didn't like staying in tune a whole lot, and the bridge pup was always fading in and out. I miss that guitar.

My trusty squier strat rocks! When I got my RG3120, I decided to try out modifying guitars by doing some work on the squier. It's got a silver pearloid pickguard, all black finish (body, neck, headstock), three Fender Tex Mex pickups (though the bridge doesn't work, I gotta go back in and fix it). The action is actually really good, and while it hums a ****load and that one pickup isn't working the tone is great vintage strat.
