The butcher is back

Hi all been a while since I've hacked up a guitar but got the urge to do another.
Body 25 quid off **** surprised when it came through with the paintjob the one in the photos had been painted black - guess the stripe police were watching

messed around with a fake claw, drilled and inserted post mounts

Neck was a cheap reverse copy, had to trim the heel

Ok first time with a jig saw here goes

half done, fagbreak..

rough cut

drilled neck holes & test fit

Ok now for a whole lot of sanding, bit of control routing & then paint

That treble horn cut out is a little large for my taste. Otherwise it is cool.

Re: The butcher is back

cheers guys, had to cut the treble horn that deep to get a large enough chunk to plug the control cavity on the back.
Search on **** for vine neck & a couple of guys are selling them.

Nice, you've got some skills. I like the makeshift lions claw.

I like flame guitars, I have one myself, but ... I just don't like it with the FrankenStrat look. However, if you did that with a jigsaw, then judos to you because that HAD to be a pain in the ass.

Re: The butcher is back

Cheers for the replys, did a little more work yesterday. Plugging the original control cavity was a pain with the wood cut from the lower cutaway, then routed new cavitys for volume pot & strat jack socket. Then more sanding maybe seal and primer by the weekend

Re: The butcher is back

Are you sure this neck will work?.
strat style bodies usually goes with 22 fret necks. you might have intonation problems with a 24 frets neck.
