The Iron Maiden Strat!!! - Finally the day arrived!!

* * Don't know if many of u are iron maiden fans, but i always wanted to have the Maiden signature strat mainly cause its always being like a rumor of them ever getting a signature model, i wouldn't use it live but just want it for the collection.

here is a link

I dunno dude. *For me the Iron Maiden strat is:

57 reissue
rout it for dual humbers + middle single
get an appropriate pickguard
install DiMarzio super distortions in both positions
optionally install Floyd Rose standard and nut (if you like them)

The strat they're selling now is more like a Janick Gers signature strat. *The one I spec'd above is a Dave Murray signature style strat. *Adrian plays all different kinds of guitars, the only distinguishing feature being DiMarzio super distortions in both positions.

I used to be a HUGE Maiden fan, but I never saw them very much. *The guitar isn't really what I expected for those guys... don't get me wrong, I would love to have it!

Adrian played:

Ibanez destroyer
Les Paul customs
Jackson strats
Lido explorer-style (?)
and others...

I don't think I ever saw him play a Fender strat.

I took another look at that strat on Fender's site, I'm sure it sounds good, but I still think of it as a Janick Gers strat.

In interviews the IM guys admit that this guitar doesn't really match any of their guitars. It is really just a marketing gimmick IMO.

It looks cool, but again I'd like it more if it was like Dave Murray's, but I don't think issuing a signature model is his style, so time to get out that routing equipment!

Cool guitar, hope you enjoy it!

I'm a long time I.M. fan and if it's a strat it should be a *H-H combination (thanks Dave). Yet another 80's guitar that has missed it's mark. Shame on you Fender! Jeez, you could have made you Mex. h-h model the Iron Maiden model. Poor marketing!

Technically it is H-H, however the H's fit in single coil slots. *Still, they miss the mark. *The trademark sound is Dimarzio Super Distortions. *In fact, they modded Janicks guitar, he uses 2 hot rails and not the JB junior. *I dunno why anyone would want to emulate Janick's playing or sound but if they did this wanna-be wouldn't even get them there.

In fact a different eddie for each inlay! One for each album!

How about eddie carved into the pole pieces (although that may be going too far )
