Tone Zone/Air Norton in Poplar = :)

Well strung up the guitar today and all I can say is WOW..

Guitar: Ibanez GSZ120
Wired like so:
Standard 3 Way Switch
Bridge Humbucker with coil tap
Neck Humbucker with coil tap and series/parallel

The Tone Zone is incredible very aggresive yet still somewhat tamed.. Awesome pickup.. Coil tapped is excellent I love it..

The Air Norton is different to me since I always use PAF Pro in the neck so I got to play with it some more but I like it. Coil tapped is very nice and lots of killer tones when used with the series/parallel switch.

Anyways I couldnt be happier with the combination and its a pleasure to have the guitar put back together again.. Now just got to wait for my knobs and strap and were off to the next adventure..

Ill post some clips later.. Im starving and been modding some of my tones to suit the combo better.

Aren't GSZs basswood?

If I find a poplar GSZ I'll snatch it. I've always been curious about poplar. Many people laugh at it, but Steve Morse's EBMM is poplar, and so are some classic Teles, and I'm beginning to think that's where the twang comes from. There could be some nice tones locked up in there.

Nice tones!

I've got the Tone Zone & Air Norton combination in my 550. Brilliant pickups.

Mmmh, maybe it's not in my neck of the woods, unless the Ibanez site is wrong again: http://www.ibanez.co.jp/world/country/frame_china.html

I guess it's different over there: http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/guitar.asp?model=GSZ120

Nice tones you got there! And great playing too. How's her twang?
