ULTIMATE SHRED GUITAR? RICO JR.

Here are some photos of my MINT condition Rico Jr. SB-2 Deluxe. The neck is unfinished for the fast shred soloing... Hand rubbed oiled finish over a mahogany body w/ a AAAA Quilt Maple Top... Seymour Duncan Pick-ups, SH-2 in the neck and an SH-5 in the bridge. The guitar has an Original Floyd Trem... These guitars are completly handmade.
Sales pitch DELETED.

wow, $3200 for a guitar that has something less than a AAAAA top. A really ugly neck joint (you can copy the RG shape, but not the AANJ?!?! come on) and a 2 piece body? Pickup rings??? Phallus looking headstock?? sorry to bash the guitar, but come on, LGM makes better guitars for 1/2 that price.

You know, there is a classifieds section on this very forum... and in that one, you have to post a price, and not just fish for offers...

Regardless of all that, these guitars sell for an abosulte fortune. And they are meant to be very good indeed. Its basically a BC Rich Customshop instrument in every way. They're not my personal taste either, but they are quality instruments through and through.

they are in no way bc rich, after bernie rico sr died his son took it upon himself to make bernie rico jr guitars, he cant make ANYTHING that looks like a bc rich, warlock nj series etc. whatever those models are because his dad sold the company after being in soo much debt. I am familiar with his work and love the Vixen model's he makes one. of his handful of dealer's in within my area and if you've never played one you should they're fantastic guitars I would buy this instrument LIKE THAT if I had the cash.

it may play great, I'm not knocking that at all, my point is that it just doesn't say "I'm worth $3200 retail", when I've seen tons of hand built, one of a kind customs that cost 1/2 that.

Re: ULTIMATE SHRED GUITAR? RICO JR.

ok im going to play devils advocate here..

people are complaing about the neck joint.. but the JS gets rave reviews which is even worse..

Now as for the price if that was made to order, per the customers request even though some may not like it, its CUSTOM one of a kind instrument. And $3200 would be about shop average for most Custom instruments. If the player decided he wanted that neck Joint and they dont offer it, its ups the price tremendously.

With that being said I dont like it at all..

Well, we all know the Jackson USA custom shop guitars are usually $4k+ but were talking everything but the kitchen sink, including Neck-thru, AAAAA quilts, abalone binding + inlays, you know, the works, oh, and no freaking pickup rings...

I didn't even notice the pickup rings until it was mentioned, now I can't stop looking at them. Gross.

Headstock is beat too. Everything else looks very nice though, coulda used some sort of inlay work IMHO
