Vai's 2nd Hamer Prototype

I found this on the Vai.com board, so I figured I'd post it here, for those of you who don't frequent it.

Boy am I glad that he went with Ibanez! That sucker is fugly! Not to mention the fact that it has a Kahler... I'd take a Lo-TRS II over a stinking Kahler!

I kinda like it......

Needs to be a different color, though.

Actually, I like don't mind the color. It's the body shape that seems so weird, to me. That, and that stinking KAHLER.

This is SO made up, it's not even funny.
I can believe Joe Despagni maiming an existing Hamer guitar for Steve which eventualy ended up back with Hamer but them making this for Steve - phlleeesse.
If you look at his Jackson, Tom Anderson and Performance guitars at the time - they look way more conventional and normal to warant anything like this hideous thing being "made" by anyone else than Despagni.

I'd chalk this down to *unsubstantiated rumour* and forget about it.

Dex, why is it so hard to believe? Everyone knows that Vai had every guitar company under the sun courting him. There are probably a whole bunch of other prototypes out there, that we've never seen. Some of them might even be more hideous, than this one.
