I've only heard about them. sounds intruiging. I wouldn't mind hearing what people have to say about these axes.

Re: Variax 600

I've not tried one, but they look ugly as hell. I have seen some people have taken the system out and installed it into their own guitar projects, and one or two brands have incorporated the technology into their guitars. I think some brands (hint hint) should strike some sort of deal with Line 6 to have them installed. The guitars I've seen them on also had normal magnetic pickups on as well so you could switch between the two.

Re: Variax 600

Hi

I have one. Good times!
It's sounds truly amzing, especially the Gibson sounds.

The only thing that sucks is the fact that the neck is
a bat and the guitar itself is not that great.

Too bad they didn't have a Jem that was variax compatible.

Re: Variax 600

I tried one and have basically 2 criticisms (ugliness of the guitar itself aside):

-there is an extremely slight, but noticeable, latency
-the variax processes the signal from the guitar's piezo bridge, which don't exactly reproduce palm-muting very well

Re: Variax 600

Hmm yes i also noticed the slight latecy and the palm muting problem. I also noticed that i couldn't get controlled feedback like a regular guitar. Those are the reasons i didn't buy it. But it does sound great. Just like the real things. It just doesn't play like the real things. Joshua
