Vernon reids Custom Hamer, I want one ???

Been looking for a picture of this for a while, and stumbled over an old Guitar Player and finally found a pic...

I friggin love it.... Was it a one off or did hamer make a few more ?

I made a mock up of a J Custom in photoshop months ago... in the same style

But now I see the Hamer, it's what im dying for.... or is it never gona happen

that's cool, but he doesn't play it. He plays the old beat up Yin/Yang one. the one from the cover of "Masque" is crazy as well if you haven't seen it, but the last time I saw him he only played that for one tune. That has the first few frets of the maple fretboard painted under the clear, sort of a 'day into night' thing going on, and is really old school cool looking. He's got some pics on Myspace of it I just found through google.

Vernon is amazing live, see him if you can, and his band is off the hook.

Id love to buy it off him, but thats never gona happen... I'll design some graphics close to that and maybe get it done one day...

You know...you never know. Shoot him an email. He's a really, really nice guy. However, if he does decide he could live without it, remember it won't be anything remotely like cheap. At least DNA price. Maybe an email to the Hamer Custom Shop?

I want to say it was '90 or '91 and I was in NYC at 48th street custom guitars, and there was a Vernon Reid ESP on the wall.

I love his playing, and lusted after a custom Hamer after seeing his.

He talks about his guitars at that time in this interview.

funny that this comes up as a proto of Vernon's Parker Fly signature is revealed:

I hope they make it a production model but with
-a proper lopro double edge (not that crummy Roland rail tacked on)
-the original Fly shape (top bout)
-something weird such as on the abovementioned Hamer.

I really admire Vernon, so I'm hoping something cool comes out of this.

He was pretty much forced to move on to another manufacturer. While Jol Danzig will work on Reid's existing guitars to help keep them alive Hamer won't build anything like that any more.
