If I had about 10 times the cash I had now, I'd be GASing for an Excalibur. But I don't. Has anyone here actually tried one? I want to know more.

Re: Vigier's New Website

I still want a Shawn Lane Master signature. Vigier Passion was the best guitar I have ever played. This was in 1987, the guitar was £400 used, and I have been kicking myself for not buying it ever since. They are almost impossible to find now.

Yeah, my teacher (Shawn's old tech) was talking about how Shawn was always raving over his Vigiers. I've been dying to play one forever.

Your teacher was Shawn Lane's tech? Damn, I wish I could find a teacher like that. Or even one that teaches intermediate to advanced players.

EDIT: I just checked craigslist, and I think I just found someone.

Yeah, I'm actually taking from both his tech, as well as one of his good friends, who both studied under Shawn. I feel very fortunate to be learning "indirectly" from the great man himself.

If anyone is in the Memphis are and needs very good instruction, check them out:

Re: Vigier's New Website

Vigiers are some of the best playing and feeling guitars in the world. Their neck is awesome and the vibarto is nothing but exceptional (even compared to my lo-Pros, Edge Pros and Edge's I've handled). Patrice Vigier, the founder, is a very ncie person who answers emails personally ... and it is sort of a custom shop also, ie, you can email patrice and ask for excatly the specs you want (color, vibrato, pickups ...) and he'll make it for you.

Ron Thal and Christophe Godin are a couple more known players that swear by their Vigier

Too bad their necks are so thick!

23 mm at 12th fret...Sorry Mr. Vigier, not for me!

Re: Vigier's New Website

They're not "so thick", they're just not super skinny! Once again, the best guitar I have ever played in my 27+ years of experience was a Vigier. Go figure.
