Washburn N4 padauk

Took some shots and put a topic over
here.

It's a really nice guitar to play. Has something wrong with wirings, though. I thought it sounded a bit too "round" for me, but I was playing with neck pup the whole time. When I tried to get that nasty Bill Lawrence growl it only whispered something... Well, I hope it's nothing biggie and it probably isn't.

Has anyone gotten an opportunity to play one? Opinions?

My '92 N4 was swamp ash, and I liked it a lot. I thought the padauk sounded very similar to an all maple guitar, though I always liked the look of them. Congrats!

The fretboard is a bit dirty - agreed - ,but them strings work still mighty fine! When I'll change the strings I'll give it a good cleaning and a touch of lemon oil... Mmm... Lemon...

Neck feels something between a finished and un-finished. Padauk's characteristic is to have a waxed-type of feeling and this one definately feels like it. It's quite comfortable.

Nice! I played an earlier one shortly after they first came out and fell in love with them. They are a very smooth guitar to play. I've always wanted one but never took the plunge. Just too hung up on Ibanez!! I'll eventually get one....I'm a patient guy.

That's a pretty flawless example of an awesome guitar you have there, bet it sounds amazing. I've always really liked the N4's. Congrats!

Re: Washburn N4 padauk

Looks like a standard N4...

All the Washburn N4s come with the Stephens neck joint.

Yep, I'd go with the standard N4 too... Trem cavity gives it away.
