I guess you can only do so much with the basic "strat" style shape.

Yeah, that's damn close. If I were Patrick, I'd say **** that **** and more than likely go on a rampage... or at least inquire about it.
Who knows, maybe they slid him some cash for it. I'd probably take up on an offer like that....... if I made badass guitars like Sims, that is.
On the other hand, that Washburn is pretty sweet. Any other new models?

Yeah that's definitely in poor taste. I doubt Patrick is getting a cent. And the worst thing - some (who don't know any better) may think it was Washburns first. I won't buy one.

Oh come on, it's not that similar, it's most probably coincidental. And deciding not to buy it because they supposedly "stole" the design comes across as a bit pedantic.
I think they both look ugly. I would like the Washburn more if the body wasn't so daft and chubby. Generally the more like a Strat/RG the better IMO.

Well yeah, I never implied that it was worth a lawsuit, it was just interesting how they were pretty similar.

Re: Washburn WM526 = Patrick Sims Custom?
Couple of things I like better on the Washburn are the way the inner curves of the horns are curves all the way to the neck, control layout and lack of
pickup rings
...
On the other side, I really like Pat's
headstock design
, fits the guitar better

Re: Washburn WM526 = Patrick Sims Custom?
Hey, guy who posted #12, do you have a comment on if this is a permitted copy/variation?
(btw. I prefer the white guitar I prefer the more distinct (German?) chamfer, but the red colour is nice!)

Re: Washburn WM526 = Patrick Sims Custom?
They look pretty similar, though on the Washburn the treble side cutout comes to the neck on the 23rd fret, and it's the 21st on the SCS. They are strikingly similar though.
