Weird Epiphone wiring thing

Ok, well I have been thinking about changing the pickups on my les paul. So today I opened up the back of the guitar, and there was this weirdass computer connector, kinda like an emg wiring. Does anyone know anything about this????

I'm sure you can change out the pickups and wire them like normal. Looks like if you take out the connector thing everything is still wired as it would be if there never was a connector.

Are you replacing all the pup's? Cause then that thing really doesn't matter.

Yes I am, but it is wired to the jack, the switch, the pots everything.

But it's coming from a pickup/pickups that you're apparently removing. It doesn't matter anymore, it's just not needed. Just remove it and wire your new pup's like normal.

no dude, its coming from the pickups, the switch (that is 13 inches away), and the jack.
