those green kluson type tuners are sh1te - my double cut has Grovers that you can adjust!

You're not talkin to some Jemsite gobsh1te here........... i fix these things day in day out............

1.) Really, some people can handle the weight. Just because you think they're too heavy, doesn't magically mean they're too heavy for everybody. It's subjective.

2.) First off, Les Pauls can create more than one tone, I thought we covered that. Second, your Doublecut uses the exact same pickups, body wood, top, bridge, etc. You're basically saying that your own Doublecut isn't versatile.

3.) Again, that's totally a matter of opinion. I find the dedicated volume and tone controls to be very useful.

4.) ^^ See above. Just because a regular Les Paul's neck joint isn't comfortable for you, doesn't mean that somebody else won't like it. Personally, I love the LP's neck joint, and the way it fills my palm when I play, but I don't expect you to like it just because I do.

5.) Not all Les Pauls use the green tulips, for one. Second, if they suck so bad, why are people still using them?

Yeah, and neither are you. I respect your opinion, but frankly, some of those points are just weak.

No hard feelings.

I was in my local guitar shop the other day and heard one of the guys say "Les paul....the only guitar you'll ever need"

I like 'em...used to own one (wish i still had it)...but i just laughed inside to myself at that one

Les Pauls are great guitars. I've never liked them personally. I can understand why people would like them though. Very well built. Lot's of sustain. How can you beat that?

Re: What is with the Gibson Les Paul craze?

perhaps im alone in not really giving a toss....

ive played a few and TBH I preferred a PRS that I played a few weeks ago..

they have way more sustain and more of a butch sound than any of my ibanez gits, I love both but if I had to choose one then I would have ANY of my ibanez over a les paul for gigging etc... they are just so versatile, unlike the LP which only does the butch thing... very well.....

I'm honestly getting tired of typing this:

THAT'S TOTALLY SUBJECTIVE!

BTW, you play a Les Paul (a Doublecut is still a Les Paul), so by that logic, wouldn't you be a sheep as well?

PS: Way to avoid every addressing other point I made.

Totally agree on the PRS. Much prefer them to the Les Pauls I've owned in the past.

Re: What is with the Gibson Les Paul craze?

they weren't valid!

I play the double cut as they are a Les Paul with the bad bits addressed......

How many of you guys out there can say that they can easily access the upper frets on a Les Paul......

Only the gynaecologists!

My double cut is essentially a PRS - and they piss all over a les Paul all day, every day........

Like Satch says - "a guitar designed 50 years ago........"

Re: What is with the Gibson Les Paul craze?

Yep, a doublecut is still a Les Paul. Check the headstock sheep...

I don't get that sentiment. If you don't like them, that's cool. Don't play them. But to bash people that do, totally stupid and lame...

I love mine. Don't like that it weighs a ton but it sounds like nothing else I have. Does both dirty and clean very well. And sustains for days. And holds it's value, at least mine does. Not too shabby...

Re: What is with the Gibson Les Paul craze?

For the LP bashers....

For every bad thing you have to say about a Les Paul, someone else has something equaly as bad to say about your Ibanez.

Different guitars for different tastes and styles. It's that easy.

Also It makes you seem very young and ignorant when you talk crap about one the best guitars ever made.

Re: What is with the Gibson Les Paul craze?

I'm not bashing Les Pauls. I've owned a Custom and a Studio and as much as I wanted to, I never really got on with either. All I'm saying is that I prefer PRS, Ibanez, Jackson and Suhr to Gibson. On the other hand, my brother thought my Custom was one of the best guitars he has ever played and that I was mad for selling it. But each to their own I say
