Which Guitar? - I have two choices and need some advice.

This is actully the wrong forum to put this thread in but it also the only neutral one. I am in the marktet for a new guitar in a couple months and I have narrowed it down to either one of the brand new J-Customs or a Universe. Now the reason I have narrowed it down to these two is becasue they are basiclly the top of the Ibanez line and have heard nothing but good comments. Now I will list the pros and cons:
Universe
Amazing Looking: (Even though it does not matter)7 string: New possiblilites to explore
Heard about the great quality
Edge Bridge
J-Custom:
Neck Thru body
Hollow RG body
Amazing to play

I have not played a Universe yet becasue no one in my city has one in stock. Also the J-Custom has a MIDI pickup on it. To me that seems to be a waste becasue I don't really like that kind of stuff. I like basic guitar tone. However I don't think that adds very much money. My RG isn't really what I wnat anynore. I want a little bit thicker neck and an overall better made instrutment. I basically play rock, some jazz, and classical on the electric guitar. I am fairly young though so should I maybe start with a *less expensive guitar or something. This is going to be my last one for aroun 5-10 years I hope and I want to be satisfied so that is why I am going for the more expensive to last me awhile.

Also one more thing, Are there any Prestige models that are equally as good as the two other guitars?

You didn't mention price. If it doesn't matter, then I'd get the universe.No, wait-the J Custom.BTW, isn't the AMerican Master the only neck-thru Ibanez?

Eeek... last decision for 5-10 years? That's a big one to live with if you don't like the result.

Tell you what, get the j-custom, and then pick up a cheap older universe on ebay (the 7BK) later on, as it won't cost you an arm and a leg, and you can have a 7 string to customise, and a really nice guitar. Then if you don't like the 7, you'll still have a beautifull guitar, and you can sell the 7 for what you pretty much paid for it.

* * 5 to ten years?????? hell i can barely go 5-6 months without buying and selling one or more guitars!! i would go with a 2027, u got same top of the line quality, its 7 strings, piezo. and it looks awesome, an not to mention the rare factor. and if u don't like it u can always sell it and probably make some cash out of it.
