You sure will. I initially wanted the snow white one, but the more I saw it the more I felt it was a bit boring, so I got the crazy green swirl which really grew on me. Can't wait to try the 59/59, string-through combo

Already have an SL2H-MAH, so I've that department covered The SLS3 may not be that much darker due to the lighter weight, we'll see!

Wow, those prices are decent. I had received a stars soloist(sl2ht) in a trade a few months ago and could not be happier with it. It has become my favorite guitar. i would recommend a stars over the std import line to any one considering a non-US model; Much better quality in my opinion.

This video should prove that it's not the guitar that makes metal. You can do metal on any guitar and the video proves it.

It's a strat with a humbucker in the bridge, I doubt that anyone is surprised it can do metal, and i'm pretty sure the picture on the finish has minimal effects on the tone.

I'd like to hear someone using the same sound/setup with a hollow body ES335 or a Danelectro.

Yeah, you can probably "do metal" on any guitar, some will just sound like sh!t.

Rock on!

Well if you happen to be that dense ...maybe you deserve to sound like sh*t.

A little common sense goes a long way.

Now where did I put that EMG equipped ukulele?

Nothing says metal like a ukulele. \m/

Re: Which Jackson guitar is best for metal?

hey dude i think the soloist slsmg costs 999$ you cant go wrong with that one. And as far as jackson concerns you dont have a lot of options because the guitars will come with either emg 81/85 or duncans jb/jazz I like the dkmg and the dk2m (this one comes with a maple fretboard with looks sexy) let us know what you chose

I recommend you give a try to Schecters they are pretty underrated guitars. Check out the hellraiser and blackjack atx series. you wont regret it

I totally agree! Schecters are well known to be underated! Especially the prices of the hellraisers, they should be like $500 more then what they sell for. They're actually one of my favorite brands, I own 2 of those babys, I totally recommend one, it'll save you like $400 or Like I said b4 esp/ltd

Re: Which Jackson guitar is best for metal?

While most Jacksons are suited for heavier styles of music, the DKMG/DKMGT guitars are probably the most metal stock Jacksons without breaking the bank.

If I play in a metal band again, I'd definitely pick up an ESP M-II maple board with EMG's.

That'd be nice as well but he's looking for something under 1000$ and that esp costs a bit more

Ask here jcfonline.com

If you take a time, you can find SL1 for $1000-$1100 which is much better then Japan market Jackson.

Re: Which Jackson guitar is best for metal?

I really like the dinky DK2s guitar, its really very close to an ibanez. I really am getting it for the sustainer. ibanez dosent have any sustainer guitars, the dk2s is very close in the wood choice, i've tried one, the bar actually holds tune very well when you dive all down and even up quiet a bit. I am gonna try an rg because i have an ibanez dealer AND a jackson dealer in my town and i do actually own a ibanez artcore (afs). so unless the rg (they dont have the prestiege in my town but the rg370 should feel close enough and is in my price range the jackson is only $600 and a having a sustainer installed is over $300+)
the only thing about the jackson is, you MIGHT want to change the BRIDGE pickup, the bridge is the only one I'd change, I'd change it to a dimarzio, that will cost less than $100 to buy and have installed. but thats better than the price to get a sustainer in my opinion, even if the ibanez is a little tiny bit better, I've heard the necks are a little to thin on some ibanezesesseses and being the owner of a 63 kay archtop(that sat in my closet for 40 years before i starterd to play) and a takamine lawsiut dreadnaught ('73) and the artcore (ibby '06) and a cruddy early 80s harmony h802, weird guitar, kinda like if a teisco had weird redneck cousin love with a sg or wilshire.... gross...

And now , back to topic.. Dinky Dk2s with sustainiac (vai used the sustainiac on mojo for a while!) it feels good in lead and in rythm playing! it has a little more of a stratish feel than the wizard shape, most jacksons do.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHATEVER JACKSON YOU GET, DONT GET MICHEAL!!!!
