Which would you pick out of these?

Okay, so far I'm considering a few things, all listed. Vote for what you'd choose. Each guitar, specifically, is listed below:

-Custom Stratocaster (built from Warmoth), too many specs to list
-Ibanez JEM77BRMR
-Gibson '57 Re-issue Goldtop Les Paul
-Gibson Firebird
-Gretsch Duo-Jet

Which one would you pick? I'm thinking the custom one because it'll feel (and cost) the best to my specifications, but I'm considering one of the last three for the vintage vibe/tone

Gibson R7, I have one and it's awesome.
I had a firebird for awhile and it was cool, but neck heavy.
The Warmoth strat may be cool, but personally I'm always a little cautious about going that route because I've done it a few times and always taken a beating on the resale

In case this helps you make up your mind

Warmoth Strat.

Umm, I think it's obvious the JEM will win the votes.

I'd have to go with the Paul.

Dee's right though. It's obvious that the poll will be a bit biased, considering this is jemsite.

I might choose the LP, actually, now I'm not sure. I like the fact that I can choose any combination of wood and features with the Warmoth, though.

MR!!!

What a surprise

I've just never been able to get into the "feel" of Les Pauls or any gibby for that matter, but then I learned on an 80's MIJ Squire

You realise that all five of those guitars are so different that you can't really make a comparison between them......

I have a 2001 Mexican Stratocaster (put Fender Hot Noiseless pickups in it), and I play a LOT, mostly blues, but also classic rock, Alternative, things of that sort. I will play anything except hip-hop/rap and easy listening. But, I LOVE blues. On the Strat, I have the action raised kinda high right now, but I'm going to lower it to make Vai and Van Halen stuff easier. The reason I was considering the JEM and the Warmoth strat would be a locking trem.

The thing I'm debating between in this choice is vintage feel and tone versus modern tone, which is what I'd get in the Warmoth piece or a JEM (the JEM is almost completely out of the picture at this point, I'm leaning towards modern tone). Other than a Stratocaster, which I already have, it has ALWAYS been my dream to own a '57 Goldtop Les Paul Reissue, so I'd love one of those. But then again, the Firebird is cheaper and has a more modern look to it.

Right now I'm mainly on the Les Paul. And btw that pic is sweet, helped me decide Les Paul.

Re: Which would you pick out of these?

If you havent played an R7 yet, they have very thick necks. It's comfortable, but thick so you might want to think about that. If you are just after a Gold LP, the Standard and Classic also comes in Gold, with thinner necks. Im not sure how deep your LP knowledge is so if you have any LP questions, or Gibson in general, feel free to PM me and I will try to help.

If you're giving them out, I'll take a Firebird VII in Seafoam
