Wizard questions
I'm sure these questions have been asked before, so I apologize in advance. I did a quick search but couldn't find the exact info I was looking for. I just had a couple questions about the Wizard neck:
1) Is it possible (within reason) to put a 22-fret Wizard neck on a
Strat body
?
2) Is the Warmoth "Wizard" profile modeled after the Wizard II, and not the original Wizard?
Thanks for your help!

Re: Wizard questions
Back in the day, when UK shops could sell spare
Ibanez necks
as a part of their inventory, it wasn't unusual for them to put 22 fret necks on a strat, or even take out the
neck pickup
and put a 24 fret neck on them, so yes it can be done.
I can't help with Q2, Sorry.

Re: Wizard questions
You could put a Wizard SQUARE heel on a Strat body. That old heel is based on Strat specs. Just cut off the overhang at the last two frets.
Warmoths Wizard profile is slightly thicker than a real Wizard, but a bit thinner than a Wizard II.

Re: Wizard questions
That'd make it about 18mm, right? Sounds similar to the
Prestige Wizard
.

Re: Wizard questions
Thanks for all the info! I think you're right about the Warmoth "Wizard" neck - I checked the stats and did the conversion and it comes out to about 18.5 at the first fret, which like you said, sounds like it's a little bigger than the original Wizard, but still thinner than the Wizard II. Anyone know what the radius is like on those Warmoths? That flat, thin board on the original Wizard is my absolute favorite neck.

Re: Wizard questions
It looks like the Warmoth necks come standard with their "compound" radius, which is described at 10 inches at the nut and 16 at the 22nd fret. But you can request a custom "straight" radius. They list some of the common guitar manufacturer radii - Ibanez is listed at 12 inches - but that doesn't sound right to me. Jackson is listed at 16 inches, which would seem closer to the wide, flat Wizard radius. Does 430mm convert to about a 16.9 inch radius?

So warmoth's with 24 fret extensions fit on old heel Ibanez's? If this is true I fear for my pocket book...
