Yamaha Pacifica 1221
Some days ago I found a nice
Yamaha Pacifica
1221 in a local store (you know, the one with
maple fingerboard
, 2 humbuckers and 1 single coil and a floyd). The thing is that the guy who works there is a real jerk and didn't allow me to play the guitar (he said the only way I could test it was bringin the money to buy it).
Soooooooooo, Does anyone can tell me if this is a good guitar? I've been using an Rg 350 (I couldn't get any 550 or 570) for a time and I'm looking for a similar one. I mainly play Heavy Metal and a little bit of instrumental rock.
Please, tell me what you think about this one (which I found a very reasonable price).

Why would you play a guitar without buying it. Don't do that. Hell, I would take my business elsewhere. Only a moron would run a shop where you aren't allowed to try out the instrument before buying.

Re: Yamaha Pacifica 1221
I would be wary of anybody who required payment before even testing something out. There could be something wrong that isn't visible (broken
truss rod
, electronics not working, etc...)

No guys, you dont understand...
Thats the kind of thing we have to deal with here, unless youve established a certain relationship with the sales people, maybe bought something in the past, theres no way they will let you touch anything...
Everyone's a jerk in music stores here...
Back to this one, show the jerk the cash, or a credit card, say youll buy it if you like it... If you catch him in a good mood you might get lucky...

Re: Yamaha Pacifica 1221
That's a good advice. I think I'll do something about it (except maybe kicking the guys butthttp://www.jemsite.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif
Talking).
Anyway, I'd buy the guitar if I truly like it. But, in the past I bought a pair of guitars, but they weren't really that good, so I thought about changing some parts of them. The fact was that they didn't improve that much.
Sooooooo, could somebody please tell if this is a good one or not? I'm interested in that because, if I don't feel to happy about the guitar I may change some of its parts. But if it's not gonna be worthy I won't even think about it.
Te question is simple, is this piece of wood good, bad or something in between?
Cm'on, somebody give me a hand.Please

I've seen really good reviews on them and they seem like a reasonable price, are there any internet sites that sell them because i want to see one, i've only read the reviews.

Re: Yamaha Pacifica 1221
I used to sell them in a large guitar store. I think they are great, and the people who bought them seemed quite happy with them.

Re: Yamaha Pacifica 1221
The Pacifica 1221 has a very slim neck reminiscent of the Ibanez wizard necks...
I've played several of them and if you like the RG550's, you'd probably like the 1221's.... they are pretty similar.
Good guitar for the money.
