Yamahas are GREAT axes at their price points. I have several Pacificas, and just got a used RGX 220 for a student. Great instruments.

I had a Yamaha SE612 back in the late 80's and it was awesome. Only reason i sold it was because i wanted a pointy Ibanez.

I have a "cheep" Yamaha Pacifica and let me tell you, It is one of the fullest, sweetest sounding guitars and best playing I have ever laid hands on. My only complaint is the wiring went kaput and to me its one ugly little girl. Most pacificas, however, are very beautiful strat copies.

But the 2 humbuckers, 2 pivot trem, and over all good integrity of Yamaha products totally turn me on to this guitar. Not to mention it is gorgeous.

So my only question really is has anyone played one. Necks and frets are the most important thing to me when it comes time to buy a new guitar. I love my JS necks and while I can manage on other necks I just don't feel as comfortable on *most* of them.

Anyway, Still waiting for a reply on this particular guitar.

Last time when I was buying a new axe and were looking different brands, I layed my eye for that same axe for a while. Two things that made me to buy an RG550 was 24 frets and the Edge trem.

All makes sence, but I have two guitars with an Edge, who needs a 3rd? and I dont feel the need for 24 frets! Now, I just wish I had an extra 900 bucks. Maybe I will get rid of some gear and my JS1000WH??? Seem like a good trade since Ive got another JS1000*BTB*?
