Re: Your best bargain?
Oh man, where do i even begin...craigslist has been good to me.
1. Ibanez DT420 MIJ Destroyer with OHSC, and gold Duncan JB/59 Combo - $400.
2. Custom Warmoth strat with chameleon color changing paint (green/blue/purple/reddish-brown, super hard to take a photo), Schaller tuners, EMG DG20 Gilmour pickups - $300 (probably my most ridiculous deal ever, must've been like a $1200-1300 dollar guitar).
3. Schecter C1 Elite (sold since, hence no pics) - $200 with gig bag, mint. Think it was like $650 at Guitar Center at the time.
Several others I can't recall but those come readily to mind.

Re: Your best bargain?
The best deals I ever had presented to me I passed up. I had a shot at a mostly all original (one rewound PAF, original to the guitar though) '59 burst for $7500, and a (John) D'Angelico New Yorker for $900. Both of these were in '79, I think....

Re: Your best bargain?
Not to plug my other thread in this forum, though I could use some help with it, but I got a Fernandes FR-120 free at a pawn shop in Japan. The guitars a neck-thru with active electronics that plays great and did I mention I got it for free. The shop guy thought it was broken so I took it off his hands, took it home, and put a battery in it. Still works and plays great but I'm selling it some other purchases I want to make. Now if I could just figure out a ballpark price to put it up on Craigs...

Re: Your best bargain?
A month or two ago I bought a brand new RG1570CA for $600 out the door. It was already a closeout and Sam Ash was having their 20% off sale.
My 2005 JS1000BP I got for $900 out the door from Sam Ash too. It was hanging up on the wall and someone had attempted to put 10's on it without adjusting tension so the trem was straight up, it was unplayable. It has a 1/4" dent in the rear which looks like a headstock hit it. Otherwise, the guitar is perfect, no scratches whatsoever, not even pick scratches. The store even paid to have it setup so I walked out of the store with basically a new JS for $900.
Since the dent is on the back, I never notice it.

Re: Your best bargain?
I went to a pawnshop recently and the guy asked me if I wanted to see a fake les paul.I said sure.I'm no gibson expert but I thought it could be real.I offered him 530 out the door.I did some research after I bought it.It was a standard in iced tea burst with a 50's neck made in 2007.Pristine condition.A good friend of mine of 20yrs passed away recently and he always wanted a les paul.I wonder if he had something to do with this?

Re: Your best bargain?
Several years back, I snagged a very nice JS10th for $800 shipped. It was a trade-in at some Wurlitzer Organ dealership in Indiana. Bizarre. Turned it around pretty quickly to Mr. Harris for a tidy profit
Aside from that, I snagged a '64 Hardtail Strat for $2400.00. Sold it a few years later to pay for college. A couple of years of college to be exact
There are a bunch of other ridiculous deals, but those are the best 2 I can recall

Re: Your best bargain?
In 2004 I bought an ESP M2 de luxe transparent purple with evo bridge and hotrail neck for 700 dollars.
Here it's almost for free cause that kinda guitar usually costs about 2000 dollars.
That dude was trying to marry.
Funny thing is his girlfriend was REALLY ugly and dumb bout music stuff,he probably ended up with no guitar and a monster in his bed LOL

I envy you. I paid a little more than that for a simple AR50. I would have loved a deal like that.

I didn't think Cherry Sunburst was an available option on Artists until '81-'82?
