Your best bargain?

So, I've got an Ibz S470, which I managed to get for £320, 60 less than the £380 RRP. And I'm now trying to increase my optimism of somehow getting a LP Studio in worn/faded cherry for less than £400, one way or another, lets hope the bay does me a favour.

So with this, I was curious of what other guitarists best bargains have been? Best snapped up bay deals etc, how much you saved etc.

Re: Your best bargain?

American made peavey generation tele, maple top (purple) gold hardware, flamed neck, sperzel tuners.........$50 from the Raleigh gc

I was shocked!, they told me they were wasting time leaving it hanging up such an ugly guitar..... whatever....

Pictures of that one will appear here one day.

Gibson Sg goth, was sold under an advertisement for "fake gibson sg" $200 w/case.

Peavey R 200watt bass amp w/1 15" w/ an 80's peavey 4/12 for 5 dollars.

those are the only unreal deals i've found recently.

still waiting to find a 59' burst for the change in my pocket.

Re: Your best bargain?

Seems like all the best deals I've gotten were over 8yrs ago before the internet completely ruined pawnshopping.Recently I found a 2000 570 in mint condition for 150 and a microcube for 24.00 .I did find an untouched jackson soloist-lightninig graphic for 1000 last week. Not a killer deal, but I like the guitar an awful lot.

Re: Your best bargain?

My friend's dad sold me my first electric guitar. It was sitting in the back of his closet and needed a set-up bad. It was such a unique guitar, beat up a little, but I loved it. He sold it to me for $65. It turned out to be a hard to find Guild S-60D. They go for around 800 and up. Of course, I didn't know that until after I traded it in. God dammit.

Now I'm going to try to convince my step-uncle that he needs to sell me his vintage Esquire and vintage Fender Twin on the cheap...

I got a 1999 7620 in fairly good nic for $500aus from a pawnbroker, which I'm told was a bargain. And a new Les Paul Standard with the faded finish for smidge over $1700aus online from Canada. Normally you'd pay up to and over $3000aus.

Re: Your best bargain?

I almost hate to admit this. When I was in high school twenty years ago, I wanted to be Steve Harris so I played bass. A friend of my family asked me to help him clean up his yard where he had constructed a storage building. For helping him he gave me an amp. A mid-60s Fender Deluxe Reverb in very good condition. I did not need a guitar amp and I did not know what it was worth so I sold way too cheap.
Now that I play guitar, I would love to have that amp back.

A co-work sold me a San Dimas Jackson with a snakeskin finish for $300.00. It had the original case with it.
