Re: Your 'Quirky' guitars

I love that guitar and considered picking it up but I was wary about the neck...

Re: Your 'Quirky' guitars

This is my Gibson/Steinberger MIII

This is my only guitar that sports 3 humbuckers.

This was released when Gibson bought Steinberger. Strange trem, nice sound. The cool thing is the not-too-pronounced reverse hedstock

Re: Your 'Quirky' guitars

I guess my Lotus could be considered "quirky."
It was originally 99 dollars used, when I was a kid. We traded my snare drum for it. The drum was worth more than the guitar.
Fit/finish-wise, you could tell it was a cheap axe.
The body is thin layers of maple and mahogany laminated together. Its thick and heavy as hell.
Over the years I've put in a DiMarzio Super Distortion pickup, Schaller 14 to 1 tuning pegs, upgraded the bridge, and eventually installed a Washburn WonderBar tremolo. It actually has a pretty cool sound to it, like it has a hint of a chorus pedal in the sound.

Re: Your 'Quirky' guitars

I see Epiphone have recently released a fairly close copy of the M3.

Normal headstock and Epi's active pickups. Still, not a bad looking guitar.

Re: Your 'Quirky' guitars

Whoa! Awsome collection! I like the unusual swirls and shapes!

Here is my 7-string Sky

She's too different playing-wise. Extended fretbord (3-octave-per-string range), after the 28th fret, the frets are positioned in full-tone intervals. She feels comfortable when played in raised-neck position (almost vertical).

Re: Your 'Quirky' guitars

Yes there is a hidden pickup underneath the fretboard. As for the detailed description of each knob and selector, I have to take her out of the case on Sunday and I'll keep you posted.
