2003 Ibanez sevens
I emailed the Aussie distributor today and they seem to believe they're bringing out a piezo version of the RG1077XLRB. They said they'll double-check with Japan just to make sure they've got the specs right and get back to me. It'll retail for $2900 that's about $1500 US).
The 2003 Ibanezes are arriving in stores here now so I'm keeping an eye out.

Yeah. But you can always import. With the Australian dollar the way it is, you'd prolly get two for the price of one!
I'd like to know just how the Australian range differs from that in the US and other countries. I know we still have RG7620s here, though they're old surplus stock, but actively available from the distributor as if they were new.
I'm looking into this, checking the Japanese website, because the distributor guy sounded a bit unsure about the piezo thing. I just like the idea of being able to buy a seven with two humbuckers and a single coil without it being a Universe (not that I don't want about a thousand Unis as well, but y'know).

There seems to be a guitar called the 2077XLRB for 2003, but it doesn't have a piezo at least in the catalog. Seems identical to the 1077XLRB, except for the Edge Pro 7 bridge (sadly, with no piezo).

Yeah... I asked specifically if there are any sevens with piezos and they said...

Hi Peter,
The new range from Ibanez should be hitting stores as we "speak".
The only seven string fitted with piezo's is the RG1077XL in Royal Blue.
They retail for $2,895.

hmmm.... I wonder if my 1077 (due to come in a couple of months) will have a piezo
never heard of this tho - as someone said there's a new version of this guitar named 2077, without
piezo bridge
but it would definitely be sweet

It sounds like the might be getting the "X" of the piezo model designation confused with the "XL" of the 27" scale model designation.

*nods* Yeah. That's why I pulled this face...
They haven't got back to me yet. But we'll see. Maybe he got the model number wrong and we're getting something exciting from Japan.
