7 String advice please

So i'm thinking of getting a 7 string, and i'd like the advice of the experts on here as to what models to look for and which ones to avoid.
Basically, i'm looking for an Ibanez, NOT a Universe, as i want just a 2 humbucker pickup config, and i want it to have a locking trem.
So,
Which models are high quality?

Which models are suck quality?

Thanks!

I have an S7320... great value for money, fantastic mahogany tone and the ZR tremolo rules.

Re: 7 String advice please

try and find a cheap second hand 7620 or econd hand rg with pickups modified

I dont understand why Ibanez doesnt put better pickups on a prestige guitar

I am gonna change my bridge pickup on my rg1527 soon, its so disappointing when playing with a non versatile pickup

I heard the schecter C1-7 with seymour duncans is sweet

Definitely a great guitar, but the stock pickups are muddy. I was lucky enough to get mine for about $500 with the pickup upgrades. I have a DiMarzio Blaze in the neck and a D-Sonic in the bridge. It's just wonderful and I love it.

S7320 is good as well.

Re: 7 String advice please

I have a 7620 (Royal Blue) with a BK Miracle man in the Bridge and a duncan Jazz in the neck and it sounds night and day from what it did with the stock pickups in there.
I had my tech strip the finish off of the back of the neck and oil it for me and now it's much easier to play.

Re: 7 String advice please

7620 and 1527 are god choices. Also if you like the UV just not the middle pickup just get a pickguard model UV such as the UVBK and just replace the pickguard and get rid of the middle pickup.

"Worst" is not the right word to describe. Cheapest, rather - the RG7321 is a fantastic guitar for the price.

Agreed. I quite like my 7321. Sure, it's no Prestige, but it actually feels pretty good. Some of the hardware is a bit lacking...notably, the bridge pup leaves a bit to be desired (though I have no problem with the neck pup), and the stock tuners aren't very good, but it's probably the best-value "low-end" axe I've ever bought.
