Re: 7-string Explorer (with pics)
Damn, man, that's one awesome guitar. I love that you did so many radical things at once (
7-string
explorer, scallopped ebony fretboard, no tone). I really, really want to hear some samples of it, even if you are a horrible player! I checked the Nailbombs on YouTube, and they sound awesome. I wanna hear yours

Re: 7-string Explorer (with pics)
I'll try to do some soundclips soon - I want to mike up my Diezel for them which'll take me a bit of organising, but I'll get it done!
And yes, I must get some more guitars swirled - I haven't done a swirl for ages now. It won't be the next project though cos that's a gonna be a 7-string single-cut (kind of like a PRS SC) with a sunburst nitro finish (and more Bareknuckles!).

Re: 7-string Explorer (with pics)
I was a sad day for us UK jemsiters when you closed up shop Rich. That explorer is absolutely awesome. Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship as allways. Looking forward to seeing the next project and hearing some clips.
all the best

Re: 7-string Explorer (with pics)
Thanks very much for the compliments guys.
I must take a group shot soon - a few of my customs have been sold on but I do have quite an unusual collection at the moment.
I think (if I remember correctly without them sat in front of me!) they are:
This 7-string explorer
Zebrano 8-string (now with bareknuckle pickups)
Tele-ish shaped blue 7-string custom (with Roland synth pickup built-in)
Stained blue UV-copy with Paua and mop inlays (used to be a natural UV but is now blue with a Fernandes sustainer in it)
Ibanez S540-7 (used to be black but I stripped the finish and oiled the mahogany)
Thru-neck 7-string tele custom with rippled ash body
Jaguar shaped black 7-string thinline
I think I've posted pics on here of all at some time or another, although the UV copy and the S-series look very different than they used to!
Yes, must do a group shot soon......

That guitar rules! HSS pickup configuration is the only way to go . . .

Re: 7-string Explorer (with pics)
So, Serratus, pull yourself together and play some god music for us on that thing! Even if you just strum a C chord, I wanna hear what it sounds like. Get busy!

Very nice! I really like the look of the neck. Got any close-ups of the head?
