7th string Gauge


i have a universe. but where i live i cant find 7 string sets neither the 7 string alone.
the tickest string they for guitar is .046

my question is. Can i use a Bass string?
a G string .050 or a .055?

Well, you can use .056 or .060 with no problem, so I don't see why not.

is there any difference beetwen Bass Strings and 7th Guitar strings????

Because where i live the only String i can get with that gauge(.050, .055, .060) are bass strings

Do a little research on the Internet and you can find what you're looking for. I use a 60.

Yes, I typically use between a .062 and a .065 B string. Sometimes they have guitar strings that thick, and sometimes I use bass strings. You shouldn't have any problem using the bass strings. You'll just have to trim a bit more of the string off than usual.

If you can't find heavy enough strings at your local store, try www.juststrings.com. They've got every gauge imaginable. That's where I get the 0.66s that I use.

Thanks to everybody ill get the .060 bass string
i checked juststrings.com but their international shipping fee is like $38 dollars, and man thats more that what im buying.

and i can get the bass string here where i live

Thanks a lot Jim!, i just received the strings you sended to me and im geting ready to put new strings .010-.046 and the .060 Jim gave me, first time seting up an ibanez tremolo equiped guitar with that gauge.(ive always used .009-.042) and first time changing strings on my Uv
BTW the truss rod cover on the uv its made of aluminum wow
