Re: 8 String Agile
I see them selling alot of those. I think it looks nice anyway, and the price is a damn steal!
Love that neck-thru.

Re: 8 String Agile
Don't know about the playability of these guitars.
But that's cheap as sh*t for a 8string neck through guitar with an Emg.

Well there 7 strings always got good reviews, I heard the necks were a little on the thick side but just look at this thing, damn, Maple fretboard, no inlays, dual truss rods, neck through, volute, real pickup, huge scale which an 8 string should be, real hip shot bridge (I HATE TOM's), ITS NOT ****ING BLACK, damn, I'm totally going to be putting a deposit on one when I get paid next week, its just to cheap to not try. I just wish it had 2 pickups.
the only upgrades I could see doing is adding locking tuners.

Re: 8 String Agile
His is a bolt on though and it looks like it has a lundgren M8 pickup, oh and a ebony board, so these should sound a lot different. Is his a prototype?

this guy got the first one I think but there was cosmetic QC issues like the 2 walnut stripes not matching. But he said it sounded sick.

That's Darren, the chap who designed these and got Agile to push them into production. There were two models in the first run of guitars - the standard, which is very similar to Meshuggah's guitars - trans grey, bolt-on, passive (in house-disgned) pickup, and available with maple or ebony fingerboard, and the Pro, which is neck-through, natural, EMG pickup, same maple/ebony options.
There were a couple of QC problems with the pro but these are on the way to being sorted. However, the next run of these guitars are still in talks just now over at
www.sevenstring.org
in the Extended Range Guitar section. Go check it out and contribute ideas!

Re: 8 String Agile
That seriously looks like one of the best production guitars I've ever seen, both in concept and execution. I'm really really really aching to try one of these out as I was sorely dissapointed by the Ibanez RG2228. Natural finish and "28.6-scale? Oh yeah...

New round, new chances.
If you want a cool and relative cheap 8 string, now is the time...
