seppe_sai: personally I hate the sound of rusty cooley, I just chose the 1 volume knob cause tone is pointless.. I never turn it down. And I did 8 string cause I wanted ..the brootals.

i also use only the vol knb, so the other one in my guitar is only filling the pickguard hole

I'll be very happy if I see an 8 string with a Violin Flat finish like the RGA 121.

The edges on the top of the headstock need to be a little sharper IMO.

Thats very cool man! Im lookin forward to see the finished product! Have you thought on the heavy-ness of the neck...? I have an 8 string (non ibanez) and its top heavy....

Definately go for the oil finish, for the tone if anything! The less nasty clear coat and paint the better.

Sorry to those who wanted the swirl!

by the way, for those of you wondering. It does NOT neck dive AT ALL, it is perfectly balanced. I don't know how, since the neck is probably 2x as heavy as the body.
