No joke, and then let the high notes sing with a lot of vibrato. Man, all I heard was
palm muting
.
Should've called it 40 pms (palm mutes per second)

god he is so annoying... congrats on the technique tho, he's fast ass hell.
i'm just waiting for a new branch in olympic sports:
"sprint shredding on 3000tones distance" (who shreds through 3000tones faster)
"last wrist "standing" shredding" and of course
"24hour shredding marathon"

Re: 8 string madness!! wow
What is "BPS"? I get NPS (notes per second) or BPM (beats per minute). If he thinks he is 40 NOTES per second, he is mistaken because it is impossible.

Re: 8 string madness!! wow
I assume BPS means beats per second.
You're right, 40 notes per second is unfathomably fast, and I seriously doubt he is playing that. The fastest recorded drummer (Mike Mangini) did 1247 strokes in 60 seconds, which is about 20 per second. I find it hard to believe he is playing twice that fast on a GUITAR.

Re: 8 string madness!! wow
40 beats per second. So that's 2400 beats per minute. Crap, my drum machine only goes up to 250. I must have an outdated model.

It's funny... Moby's 'Thousand' is listed as the fastest bpm song recorded at 1000 bpm, however Mike Mangini has done over 1200 in a minute with his hands, while a number of guys have done 1000+ with their feet. George Kollias from Nile has been known to blast 16ths at ~270 bpm on some songs, granted that's not for a minute straight or anything even close, but do the math there!!! Most drum machines and software maxes out at 999 bpm, so you actually have to get into some trickery with your software to match these guys with the computer.
