A used RG7420, for $400 - ...is it worth it??

A friend of mine is selling me his RG7420, in Black Pearl Color. But he asks me for $400, is it worth the price.
I saw the guitar and it is in mint condition, except for a small nick on the back side (not very visible).

One thing though, he says the guitar has a mahogany body...Please help me on this, I'm buying it this monday.
THX

i'm pretty sure its a basswood body, and the only rg7s to have mahogany were the 2027 and the 7621 M-BOL
from what i've heard, the trs bridge is more of a curse than a blessing, so i'd go for an ax7221 if you want an entry level seven string. they're usually available for around 400 bucks *http://www.***************.com/ex/sh...145?pid=519665 *
but, there would be extra cost for shipping...
in your situation, i'd get your friend to drop $25 to $50 depending on how long he's had it.

see the Ibanez 7-string Spec Sheet in Jemsite --> Guitars for more info. I would not pay $400 for a guitar with a TRS. *For that i'd buy a new clearance RG7421... glen

Nooooo way. The most I would pay for a 7420 is 200-250. no wait..i wouldnt pay anything. i would only pay that if it was the only guitar ibanez makes. but then again id probably play ESP...

* ...i think you get my point...

Yep, I almost added the K-7, but I didn't know if it was offically a "RG." I'm pretty sure the RG7-1VL J-Custom is mahogany too, but now we're getting a little too picky.
