Advice needed (custom shop related)

I've been on and off 7 strings for quite some while now and just recently aquired a MMM1. Honestly, I don't fancy the extended neck scale at all and I'm considering switching back to a 7 string again.

I'd like to buy a cheap one (7321) and mod the crap out of it so that it becomes my dream axe. Here's what I had in mind:

* new pickups (TZ and Air Norton)
* new paintjob (white body, white neck, black Ibanez logo)
* instead of a tone control perhaps a preamp of some sort

Question is, should I get a RG7321 or wait and see if a white RG7621 appears on ****.com?

Personally, I'd say get an RG7321. I've got one and it's frickin' great. Plus, with the mods you have in mind, the white neck-binding will be even more super-pymp.

I would love to do the same to a 7621 WH. It's more the white of my PWH. This color I used is whiter. I like the WH finish on my PWH and on the 7621 WH better.

Keep your eyes open, you'll find one. I remember seeing one a few weeks ago.

True. The neck on the 7321 is nicer with that white binding. If I had it my way, I'd have that neck on a 7621 WH body.

Only thing I'd do is paint the headstock white to match the color of the body. Cool volume/tone knobs. Are those from some old Ibanez Stompboxes?

I'm thinking of going for the 7321 cause I don't want to spend that much money on it this time. I always end up putting too much money on the table and later on regretting it, but I appretiate the good feedback! That's why I love this forum
