Hey Ibanez7addict

There are some resons that i changed my 1077 to 1527.

Firstly, i think that it is quite difficult for me to play some wide interval licks on my 1077. As a Asian, i dont have a big hand. So when i going to practice soem Shawn Lane liked licks on a 27 inch neck, it is quite difficult to master it.

Secondly, i can earn some bucks when i am selling my 1077 to others, so that i can upgrade the pickup of 1527. I think some of the forum member agreed that the pickup of 1527 sound a bit thin and have a cheap sound. I would like to install an Air Norton and Tone Zoen 7 on my 1527.

But one thing i dislike is the neck of 1527 is a bit thicker than 1077. But overalll, i think it is not bad @500USD.

ok ,

i understand your reasons.
the 1527 will have a great sound when the pickups will be replaced.
i think i will change the pick ups on one of the 2 guitars ,don t know wich one .
i like the evolution pickups ,i used yo have them on my 6 string ibanez and hope they will be as good as they were on the 6!

I'm actually kinda leaning towards swapping my TZ for an Evo7, too. The tone zone's got this great wah-like inflected midrange, but on the downside, i don't like how the high end sounds when i roll the volume back to clean up the lead channel on my TSL- it sounds, well, "inflected." My air norton is way more "musical" witht he volume back. I want to try something with an evener response, i guess.

I ought to record a sound clip to show what I mean or something, that's a horrid description.

I'd like to know how you changed it...just swapped necks?
The bridge is in a different place on the XL's to allow tuning that scale length...did you move the bridge forward?

I think he means traded guitars completely (or sold one and bought the other).

Yes. I have sold my RG 1077XL and just got my RG 1527 recently. Frankly speaking, the pickup of 1527 sounds a bit thin to me. So i would like to get a high output pickup like Tone Zone 7 and Air Norton 7. Anyway, does anyone here tried Blaze custom pickup before? How it soudn when compare to Tone Zone?
