AJ 307 warranty coverage?

Okay, believe it or not, the playability on my acoustic 7 is getting worse. Would it be a waste of time for me to contact Ibanez about this? Is it asking too much to have an acoustic (7 string) that will let me play (in tune!) higher on the neck than the 7th fret? Even though I'm hoping to get a higher quality guitar some day, it would be nice if I could still play this one.

I would imagine your bridge shifted during a string change, and now your intonation is all whacked.

I found the tuning on my AJ307 got a bit better when i tuned on the 12th fret instead of the open strings.

Regardless, the main problem with them is that they don't have compensated bridge saddles. Once i settle on a gauge of strings for mine, i'm taking it to a luthier here to get a custom compensated saddle made, which should dramatically improve or eliminate intonation problems.

Nah man, the string change helped the intonation. The big problem now is the big ass hump in the fretboard where then neck meets the body at the 14th fret. Intonation is still a little off, but the big issue at the moment is horrible buzz that makes the guitar quite literally unplayable (honestly no exageration here) between frets 10 and 13.

a picture i just took of the area in question. looks like there's a little neck bow as well.

You need to humidify the guitar ASAP. The hump in the neck is caused by the top raising due to lack of humidity. Get a dampit sound hole humidifier at your local music store, put it in the guitar IN the case. Keep it there when you're not using until spring. Refill every 2-3 days. Believe me, it works.

Thanks, I realy never thought of that. Unfortunately I don't have a case. Would a dampit still help if I leave the guitar on my wall? I do have a gig bag. I guess that would be better than nothing.

Ahem, yeah it'll help even if its on the wall but it would work better if it's in it's gig bag at least. Keep it in the bag overnight and for long periods when not playing until this frickin cold spell leaves the e.coast.

Cool, thanks for your help, stretcher. I'll pick up a humidifier tomorrow, maybe a cheap case as well, or at least a better gig bag. The one I'm using now is realy bottom of the line (I think around $10).
