Another amp-topic concerning 7-string co-op.

Heaven-o, everyone.
It's been a while, and I thought I was getting out of the habit, but here I go, with another amp-topic:
I REALLY don't wanna throw myself into something that I can't get out of. Like, for example, buying an amp that doesn't really squeeze every last penny - that I paid for it - out in means of soundquality.
So, what I'm starting to look for is basically a HEAD that goes down brutal on the low-end, and these are the canidates so far:

ENGL Powerball
Pros: Tight distorsion that fits well into staccato palm-mute chugga-chugga-crunch riffage! Seemingly nice clean channel.
Cons: THE PRICE! Cheapest specimen over here in the north of Europe clocks in at around 1500€.

Peavey Triple XXX
Pros: Has a price-advantage over the Powerball.
Cons: Haven't heard it "in action", so to say, in the middle of a sonic assault, so I don't know its distinction.

I'd like you to, if you have any experience with this gear, comment these guitar-heads with any general pros and cons. What I'd be looking for in the head I'd be buying would be a head that can squeeze out a good clean tone, and a distorsion that handles the almighty "staccato palm-mute chugga-chugga-crunch"-riffing! (Think Meshuggah for this one)
If ANYONE has any good Peavey Triple XXX clips (Yes, I've already heard the clips on their site.) with a more elaborate investigation on the clean-channel, please submit. That goes also for more heavily distorted parts.

As always, thanks in advance.

I'd say Powerball, no question. If you get the Triple X, you'll just end up wishing you'd gotten the ENGL.

You may also want to look into Krank amps (http://www.krankamps.com), just a random suggestion.

I just want to say that the local store here just started selling Krank Amps. Tried a couple out. Don't expect to get a nice quiet bedroom level out of one. Holy mother of someones god, those amps are freakin' LOUD! The volume seems to be really on or really on.

i had good luck with a Carvin MTS 3200 tube head 100/50 watt. around 600 USD..........i eventually bought a Mesa Dual rec Tremoverb half stack, but still use the Carvin <for RG7620>when my amp switcher actually works.

really, whatever you go with, my experience with the XXX was way too much presence.I mean WAY too much.
