Someone pointed me there while I was trying to replace guitars, and it was a recommendation of one of their freinds who had bought a guitar there. You do have to consider import duty as well though, but they seem like a respectable outfit...

Your profile doesn't state where you live. I still have a few 2027's left if you're in the US.

Import duty on a $1000 guitar will probably run $60-80.

The Customs rate is actually 10% in the US, but the bottom line is never the same, like they roll the dice and charge acordingly

If you're worried about getting ripped off you can stop worrying. Worry more about the shippers, Ishibashi isn't know for the best packing. I bought a UVMC without case, no problems, but it could have been packed much better.

at that website, there are the but they are not clear, i don't think they would make a different model name just for a different color, right?

from the looks of it, the only difference is the black "flat" color. all other listed specs are the same. if those listed specs are correct, the thing about the name is probaly just a scheme to differentiate(sp?) it from the 2027x for people who didn't like the vv color and people who may have not been aware of the double edge 7-strings.

Import duty in europe seems to be about tye same as VAT, which is 17.5% in the UK. Then they add some stuff on... It's all quite mind boggling, and I tried to get someone at customs to explain it to me, but either he was lame or I was really really stupid. It was very complex and he didn't seem to understand it. I think i agree with what someone said above: They just roll a dice...
