Anyone tune a 7 string like this?

D G C F A D G

With the lower six strings as a 6 tuned a whole step lower, plus the .008 high G string. I use it on one of mine and it works very well for me, quite a different sound world than the "regular" way of tuning. The open strings sound really clear and bright, and i love the extra range the high G gives. What i'd really like now is an 8 string to add a low A, and detune to G sometimes...

I believe the Maestro Alex Gregory, inventor and patent holder of the Seven String Guitar, is the inventor and patent holder of that tuning. (tounge firmly in cheek) But actually he used that tuning on the 7 string fender he played I believe.

I have tuned that way since 93 or 94. Actually I use the dropped D version. CGCFADG. I use 11-52 LTHB with a high 9. Kevan can vouch for my f*&^ed up tuning.......lol
