Baritones - Any pictures from owners?
Not too long ago somebody posted a picture of their new
baritone guitar
. For some reason I cannot find it in the forum.
Could all you Baritone owners post pictures? I want to purchase a 7 string, possibly a baritone, possibly a UV, or *possibly even a K-7, yet the baritone photos from Ibanez don't do it justice.
Can somebody help?
Thanx

Yep, that was me.
I just uploaded those pics in the ftp area. They are called rg1077xl.jpg and rg1077xl2.jpg.
It absolutely rules. I'd take it any day over my Universe, and I think it looks way better than the K7 (especially with the pickup mods). I haven't played a K7, so I won't make any comparisions in that regard.

Thanx for that reply. I have a little trouble finding it though...
Do you tune it to standard 440 or do you down tune?

What's the finish like in person? *You barely get a look at it in the pics.

The pickups do come black stock.
The finish in person is like the lower corner of the second .jpg - a royal blue sparkly finish when the light is shining right on it. However, when its not right under lighting, it looks dark blue.

Just got a quote from Rich. Interesting price. A little more than what I would like to pay:doh: , but I am sure the extra is well worth it.

Hey cmartin,
Where or how did you get all of the white hardware for your guitar? I found a 1077xl for a pretty good price and I'd like to do something similar.
Thanks,
christian

I made a baritone guitar out of a Mexican Stratocastor once. All I did was re-file the nut to accomidate the higher
string guage
and adjust the
truss rod
. Of course I used something on the line of 14's but it sounded pretty cool.........Just tuned down some wacky way I don't remember but it wasn't a traditional tuning
Got the idea from a magazine about one of Satriani's tunes and the accompaning artist that was playing a baritone guitar set up the same way.......

Baritone's have a longer scale to accomodate a higher string-tension (for low, tuned down strings)

Well, lets see.... The knobs and switch cover are just standard white strat-style parts that you can get anywhere for a couple of bucks.
The pickups are actually white pickup covers from
Jeannie pickguards
that sit over the existing pickups.

I'm going to put actual white pickups in soon however (Blaze Custom for the bridge and Blaze for the neck).

He quoted you on the 1077XL??? Trust me, I just got mine... that little extra cash is DEFINALTELY worth it... and also, none of the pics (not even cmartin's) do it justice...
If you want to hear it, go here:

I played that track last sunday WITH the 1077XL... damn neck nearly killed me... (baritone scale + 7 string width)
Its got amazing tone...
