Body change in '98? - Did the RG7620 body change during '98?

I am trying to get a pickguard made for my 1998 RG7620 (because they didn't come with one, of course). *However, when talking to the manufacturer, he indicated that he has a pickguard template for the RG7620, but when he mailed one out recently, he found out it didn't fit. *He thinks there was a slight body change to the 7620's during 1998, and in order to make the proper pickguard for my guitar, I will have to find out when my axe was specifically made and what changes were made? *Does this sound familiar to anybody or does anybody have any suggestions?

Body change in '98?

i'm not aware of any gross body dimension change, but they could tweak things during any run. Since these guitars have no pickguard, it's hard to ascertain if maybe the original pickguard template being used was "off" just slightly. Still the serial # on the headstock should identify the year of production... glen
