Re: Brand and gauge you use

I always used GHS Boomers but it was for a sixstring so I had to buy an extra string but now I use Dean Markley .10 - .60 a complete 7 string set

GHS Boomers 10-46, replacing the 46 with a GHS 52, and a D'Addario .068.

Re: Brand and gauge you use

I've been using the D'addario .009-.054's for a couple of years...although that's only been about 3 string changes since I hardly use my 7 string. Possibly in future I'll put a standard set of .009's on and replace the low B with a .060

Re: Brand and gauge you use

I use a six string set D'addario .011 - .049 and a single d'addario .70 for Drop A tuning.

The increase in thickness from low E to low A didn't take as much getting used to as one might think, to me this is the perfect set for my tuning since string tension is a uniform 9-10 kg.

I think even string tension on all strings is way more important than evenly increasing string thickness.

Kick ass, another "What strings do you use?" thread, but I'll bite, it helps the post count. D'addario or DR 11s

D'Addario 9s hands down. They're great strings.

Re: Brand and gauge you use

I don't even play 7 strings, but I'll answer.

Lately, 9-42 on electric.

13-56 on acoustic.

I'm about to try a 12-52 set on my electric. I'd like to switch to some thicker strings, since I like the sound more, and I don't shred as much as I used to.

All strings I use are D'addario.
